Phi Bold Brows Microblading is a form of semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement using a manual hand tool to implant pigment into the superficial layers of the skin. The technique is designed to create natural-looking, hair-like strokes to enhance the shape, fullness, and symmetry of the brows.

Pigment is carefully selected and matched to the client's natural tones. Numbing agents are used to minimise discomfort. A top-up session is typically required 4–8 weeks after the initial treatment to perfect the result.

The effects typically last 12–18 months, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Fading will occur gradually, and annual refresh sessions are recommended to maintain results.

Contraindications

Microblading may not be suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Are under 18 years old

  • Have active skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis) in the brow area

  • Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring

  • Are diabetic (unless well controlled and with GP approval)

  • Have blood clotting disorders or take anticoagulant medication

  • Have had recent Botox or fillers near the brow area (within 2 weeks)

  • Are immunocompromised or undergoing chemotherapy

  • Are prone to cold sores (you may need antiviral prophylaxis)

It is your responsibility to disclose all relevant medical conditions, allergies, and medications to your practitioner.

Risks and Side Effects

As with all skin procedures, there are risks, which include but are not limited to:

  • Redness, swelling, tenderness, minor bleeding during the procedure

  • Pigment fading, colour changes, or uneven pigment retention

  • Scabbing, flaking, or peeling during healing

  • Infection (if aftercare is not followed properly)

  • Allergic reaction to pigment or topical anaesthetic

  • Poor healing due to skin type or medical conditions

  • Minor asymmetry or need for additional touch-up

Microblading is not an exact science, and while every effort is made to achieve your desired result, outcomes may vary.

Aftercare Instructions

To ensure optimal healing and pigment retention:

  1. Keep the area clean and dry for at least 7–10 days.

  2. Do not pick, scratch, or peel scabs or flakes.

  3. Avoid sweating, swimming, saunas, sun exposure, or steam for 10 days.

  4. Avoid makeup or skincare products on the brows during the healing period.

  5. Apply aftercare ointment as directed by your practitioner.

  6. Do not use retinols, acids, or exfoliants near the treated area.

It is normal for brows to appear darker and more intense for the first few days. The true colour and shape will emerge as the skin heals.

Touch-Up Appointment

  • A top-up is recommended between 4–8 weeks after the initial treatment.

  • This allows refinement of colour, shape, or any areas with lighter pigment retention.

  • If not attended within the recommended time, a new treatment fee may apply.
